Oregon Trail of Dreams Owner/Operator, Rachael Scdoris is a local celebrity, being named “Woman of the Year” and recognized in multiple publications. She is the first legally blind person to be a three-time competitor in the epic, 1,200-mile race across the Alaskan wilderness to finish the Iditarod. She and her husband offer a backcountry introduction into the fascinating world of dog sledding. Hop in a sled and spend some time with a few of her nearly 100 Alaskan huskies, who clearly love what they do. Imagine gliding over the snow, taking in the sights of snow-covered Central Oregon, all from the comfort of a dog sled. Your children can feed and water the dogs, as you stop for a rest deep in a secluded clearing in the Deschutes National Forest. Participants stay snug and warm in the sled while the team led by professional mushers take you on your exploit, along snowy tree-lined trails near the slopes of Mt. Bachelor. Their athletic team of dogs introduce you to something truly unique and inspiring to experience. This true-taste stride behind a real dog sled team is nothing less than thrilling! How could you help but to have nothing less than a howling good time.
