If you find yourself looking for an unusual adventure and are hungry, Cowboy Dinner Tree is the place to go where you’ll get an authentic cowboy dinner, in an authentic cowboy setting. Years ago, there was an old shack under a Juniper tree, which is now the home to Cowboy Dinner Tree. Back then, ranchers moved their cattle herds from the Silver Lake bed to the Dinner Tree, it was considered the halfway point and they were hungry when they arrived! This timeless classic is one of the best homespun cowboy dinners this side of the old west at a fair price. Today after all these years, this iconic Oregon experience cowboy dinner restaurant still serves up chuck wagon style buckaroo beans, bread and biscuits, along with a slab of beef that most cowboys would only dream of on the trail. So, if you’re hankering for a taste of the old west, where BIG is the work, big steaks, big chickens and all-around way too generous portions, you’ll be glad you made the trip and grateful you didn’t have to go on horseback!

Getting there:  Take Highway 97 South to highway 31 to Silver Lake, then turn on East Bay Road 4.5 miles south of Silver Lake. For a map and specific directions, visit www.cowboydinnertree.net. Located approximately 75 miles from Bend.

Local Tip Reservations are required, so they know how much grub to plan on and they don’t accept walk-in customers. They also offer rustic cabins to stay in overnight to rest and unwind and a western gift shop to boot.
